Thanks to the woods, water and agricultural conditions a small village was established, jobs were created and the road was built to a village nearby, Torgås, in 1908. The church was opened in 1909. During world war II forces from the military were housed in the village. Rörbäcksnäs had a peak in woodcutting, until the 70/80´s when the horses disappeared.Cattle also decreased and a new era began. Tourism became the main support to the villagers, as they helped in building ski-lifts, roads, tourist cabins and other facilities for the newcomers.
